JOHNOSSI
One of Sweden's most respected and popular rock bands will most certainly rock the Solgården stage on Wednesday July 16. We're talking about Johnossi, of course—surfing yet a new wave of success with their latest album "Forevers".
The band consists of vocalist and guitarist John Engelbert, and drummer/percussionist Oskar "Ossi" Bonde. When they were formed in 2004, they were actually meant to be a trio, but when the intended bassist twice failed to show up for rehearsals, John and "Ossi" decided to go for it on their own.
Only six months later they released their self-titled debut album, and quickly established themselves as one of Sweden's most interesting new bands. In the years that followed, they toured Sweden and Western Europe with bands like The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, Mando Diao och Sibling Sense. In 2007 they toured the US with Shout Out Louds, and in 2009 supported The Hives in Japan.
Their 2010 album "Mavericks" was considered a milestone by many fans, with the single "What's the Point" occupying 25 weeks on the Swedish Tracks chart. In 2022 and 2023 they entered Sweden's living rooms as part of the massively popular TV shows "Så mycket bättre" and "På spåret"—a success that was followed with their acclaimed eight studio album "Forevers" in the autumn of 2024.
They then went out on a sold-out Swedish tour, and followed that with a European leg in the early new year. And during their Summer tour, Hotel Tylösand will be the place for a much anticipated Johnossi concert. July 16 it is. See you in front of the stage.
